BACKPASS
The football magazine dedicated to the 60's, 70's and 80's
BACKPASS is a magazine that is basically dedicated to the game of football from a time gone by. It is, as it states on the front - a retro football magazine. It's full of what it says, football from days before Sky and other TV stations took control, concentrating on the 60's, 70's and 80's. Recalling Giant Killing feats that used to be the hallmark of the FA Cup and articles on the players and managers that graced the game in many of our boyhood days. Can anybody out there remember The Watney Cup? BACKPASS issue 5 carries an article about it, plus also an article about Sunderland when they won the FA Cup and when North Korea stunned the fotball world and defeated Italy in the 1966 World Cup game at Ayresome Park, Middlesbrough. Earlier issues have included stories about Liverpool's Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley and Alan A'Court and no doubt more will be included in future issues. Another highlight of this magazine is the old photographes that they use - compared to the 'sensationalist' images of today many of them show the game in a very innocent light.
The publishing editor of BACKPASS is Mike Berry and he is backed up by a team of excellent retro writers. More details on this superb publication can be found at their website:
In Issue 131 of Red All Over The Land BACKPASS was our publication of the month.
